I had a bit of a break over the holidays while my college professor husband was out of classes. Now that he’s back in school my life is returning back its own usual schedule…quilting, crocheting, singing, exercising, writing blog posts…
The square topper featured in today’s blog post is one I recently finished. It would add interest and a conversation piece to your living room or dining room, especially if your accent colors are deep green and gold. The backing is a coordinating solid butterscotch cotton fabric.
It’s made with high quality cotton quilting fabrics featuring a leaf print. The accent fabrics are calico prints in beige and cream colors. It was made with rectangle patchwork surrounded with green and gold borders. The topper measures 30-3/4 inches square. It would look especially pretty on a dining room table, coffee table, or buffet.
As always with my quilted table mats, it was machine stitched, with decorative stitching reinforcing seams for stability with laundering and continued use. It is machine washable in cool water, gentle cycle with mild detergent. It may be air or machine dried on low heat. The topper may be steam pressed, if desired.
The following pictures give you a good idea of the character of this quilted table topper. It IS a one-of-a-kind piece, as I don’t make any two identically. They’re certainly not mass produced!
